The Academy competing in WGI 2008

The Academy are delighted and excited to announce that both TA's A and Open class guards will be travelling to Dayton in April 2008 to compete in the WGI Championships. This is The Academy's 3rd trip to the WGI Championships, and the first time TA's A guard will be making the trip.
Both guards will be travelling to Dayton for 6 days where the members will have the opportunity to perform with some of the worlds top guards leading up to the championships.

The Academy Open class guard will be competing in WGI's Independent Open class, where they will be pushing the boundaries for success. After a successful appearance at the WGI regional in London in 2007, TA's open guard will be working hard as they prepare to take on the challenge that WGI Independent Open class has to offer. This highly competitive and inspiring class will see The Academy's Open guard pushing to new levels.
The Open guard, whose 2008 show will shortly be announced, are excited to take on this next challenge and show that UK colourguards are also pushing boundaries! KC Michel and Damon Padilla are excited to be designing for The Academy Open guard again in 2008, and we also welcome the return of Rick Subel to our design team

The Academy's A class guard will also be competing in the WGI championships for the first time, an historic trip for the young group.
The Academy A guard have perhaps the most daunting challenge of competing against hundreds of A class colourguards from all over America. The A guard are very excited to take on this challenge and also welcome KC Michel on to their design team. KC Michel and Darren Darton will be writing the A guards 2008 show, to be announced at a later date.

This is an exciting time for The Academy as they continue to develop and grow. The Academy look forward to competing with 4 units in WGUK for 2008, as well as competing at the WGI European regional in Holland.
