A Class
The Academy A class is pleased to announce their 2008 programme, 'Solitude - A Lady's Tale' based on the music of Lorenna McKennitt, they will be using two pieces entitled 'Greensleeves' and 'The Lady of Shalott' (a musical adaptation of the poem by Alfred Tennyson of the same name). Along side this they will also be using an original arrangement of 'Greensleeves' produced by Joe Rodwell and Eoin O'Keeffe.
The Academy A will portray a more mature programme than in previous years, based around a concept of solitude and isolation, as experienced by the Lady of Shalott in the medieval folk story of the same name.
This group is pleased to welcome, for their first year, KC Michel
(Visual) and Jamey Thompson (Visual) onto their staff, who have both been teaching the senior group and various WGI and DCI guards. We also welcome back Darren Darton as the Director/Equipment designer for this group and Aoife O'Keeffe as the Movement caption head. Matt Johnson returns to us for his second year as our visual technician and we would also like to welcome John Sharman and Vicky Thurston as technicians for this group.
We have a number of the Open Class guard members who have volunteered their time as technicians again for this season and also to help design; this will allow them to develop their design skills as well as helping this group achieve a more varied book.
The design team is very excited about working together again for another season and is hoping to carry on building this unit from their development in the previous seasons. We look forward to seeing you at the first show and hope you enjoy 'Solitude - A Lady's Tale'
